Mix a little jazz and classical Metal
progressive metal, or sometimes known as progressive metal is another genre of heavy metal community. metal has characteristics of progressive rock, jazz, classical and metal. They combine different elements into a kind of metal music. progressive metal bands usually have some kind of jazz or classical inspiration. These genres were known progressive metal skeletons. progressive metal less popular than others in the metal community. But with more bands to create a more progressive style of music, which could push together.
1960 and 1970 – The start of Progressive Metal
Back in the 1960's and early 70 in progressive metal. A group called High Tide started using some elements of these other types of music in metal music. Other groups began to follow the trend. King Crimson and Rush was another group to take some of the characteristics of other genres and mix. There was a beginning of progressive metal but needed someone to push you to the next level. There were three groups that could do it. Queensryche, Fates Warning and Dream Theater have their own ideas and inspiration for the metal Have a little progressive inspiration from rock, jazz and classical music, which gave three bands edge and the influence of a solid metal.
The Breakout
progressive metal has started to become more popular in the metal community in the 1990's. When he convened a press Queensryche Silent Lucidity has become very popular on MTV and radio. Other bands began to emerge gradually and became greater after the explosion of popularity. With groups paved the way and Tool, Symphony X, Opeth, Threshold, Pain of Salvation Ayreon and now became more advertising. All these bands had their own unique style makes them a popular new progressive metal.
Time passes
With time the progressive metal. Consciousness, Dark Suns and disappointment began to become new entrants in the progressive metal and were strongly influenced by the "fathers" of progressive metal. Most progressive metal bands ever have tried to Opeth, Tool, Pain of Salvation, Green Carnation and Anathema.
Mixed with classic progressive Jazz, Rock and Metal
With some heavy metals, elements of rock, jazz and classical music will give a cornerstone of progressive metal. Progressive metal could be a relative of the genres of metal. The most popular metal band Opeth are progressive and X. King These two bands could even be seen as progressive death metal. Devin Townsend, Symphony X and Gallery are shadown bands that can fit into the traditional progressive metal. Also watch out for bands like Meshuggah, Between the Buried and Me and the plague are considered jazz / death fusion metal.
What future for progressive metal?
With these new bands that come into the progressive metal structure and style of music has evolved more complex grinding guitars and music. Experiments of this type has been influenced by thrash, classical, jazz and even his own music and keep changing. As the song structures increasingly advanced and complex, so the riffs, the beasts and talent. There is a strong future for the metal progressive.
