The Cadillac Seville Sedan overflow tank. How do you know how to fill it, if it is low?

I put 2 liters of water in the overflow my Cadillac Seville SLS sedan with a Northstar engine. I could see another half inch of water remaining in the bottom of the help a length of 5 inches of wood. I do not see the marks on the tank. But it is a splitter and the depth of the overflow tank is about 6 inches.

Overflow tanks have marks on them, cold or hot what the level should be there in cold or hot. Look at the side of the tank.
